Sister-in-law Leo comes to visit and Irish music lives in Schaffhausen

Jan and I had a special guest from Hannover this weekend. It was fun to have Leo here.  (Thanks for coming!)  I had to snap a picture of her next to this sign because she was saying that the swiss should learn how to speak German.  The middle word on the sign means cheese cake and is spelled Kasekuchen (dots over the "a") in high German.  The swiss like to make everything sound cute with the "li" on the end and by substituting the "k" with "ch".  Quite a difference when you compare the two words.

Jan and Leo in the city.

This weekend I also had a concert with an Irish group that I help coach with a friend.  We were the only non-profi group to play at this 3-day long event.  It was so much fun and very well received by the audience.  Ralph (the guitarist on the left side) composed all the music for the event and plans on writing more so we can have a full program.  This group has been together for a few years but has never played a concert this big.  The girls did a great job and then we got to enjoy some more Irish bands after we played.

The event was quite authentic with all the Irish drinks and fish and chips.  This festival is held every year for three days and the bands come from Switzerland, Ireland, the U.S. and other countries.  The one thing they all have in common is that they love this music!  It was a lot of fun!
