Jan and I travelled to a pumpkin festival on Saturday that is held annually in a town about 20 min. from Schaffhausen. We were not really expecting much but were blown away by the hundreds of carved pumpkins in all shapes, sizes and colors. The small village of Rudolfingen turned off all the street lights which allowed for optimal pumpkin viewing. This is just an example of one of the pumpkins we saw. The festival really got our creative juices going for next year. On top of all the wonderful pumpkins to see, there were also many tasty pumpkin things to eat. We chose pumpkin gulasch and pumpkin soup. However they had so many more things to pick from such as: pumpkin crepes, curry pumpkin, pumpkin kebabs, all kinds of pumpkin cakes and breads, pumpkin noodles, etc. We are already planning on going again next year with the little one.
Last Friday was also my first major orchestra concert with the Salon Orchestra Schaffhausen. We had it in a really modern-looking church with great acoustics and pulled in a pretty good crowd. It was really fun to put all our hard work together and the concert went beautifully.

I had no idea pumpkins were that popular down there! In my ignorance I thought that was an American thing...
Would love to see pics of your growing belly! ;)
