Zurich

Today Jan and I went to check out the beautiful town of Zurich. It only took us 40 minutes to get there and the scenery was beautiful on the way. Today was a little hazy so it was hard to see the Alps clearly but we saw them a little bit. What a beautiful town with so many cute shops, tight little corners and hidden cafes. The pedestrian zones are really what make European cities so special in my mind. The streets and cool buildings create a really fun maze to explore. We enjoyed a coffee and hot chocolate in a small cafe that was warm and cozy. Today got down to -1 degree celcius so it was pretty chilly (I know as a Minnesotan that is really not too bad but it does still get to you). It was an easy day to stroll by foot and get a feel of the town. Jan was really happy to have a day off. The first week of work was a success and next week the pace should pick up a bit since the guy that will train him into his position will be back from vacation. Blessings everyone!

Oh, yes, you guessed correctly. It is biting cold again. The temp has been playing havoc with us. We have had a couple of fleetingly "warm days." You know when it gets to 30!
Your jaunts in new places sounds so much fun and quite romantic as well :-) Glad you guys get to have this experience. I was in Zurich once a long time ago, but only at the airport and even the scenery from there looked beautiful.
