Lina's 4th birthday!

It does just seem like we celebrated Lina's 3rd birthday but it is already her 4th!  What a big girl she is.  Birthdays keep getting more fun with these girls.  Lina's joy overflowed at everything the day entailed.  She woke up to a decorated kitchen with presents from family on the table to open before breakfast.  Then she went to preschool and got to bring each child a birthday bag of treats.  Then the four of us went to the Mall of America (upon Lina's request) to ride some rides at the amusement park.  It was a fun day celebrating together.

Thank you to all who sent Lina presents.  She so enjoyed each one!

Indeed Jamie understood that the presents were not hers to open but Lina's.  Thanks to Oma Sabine for providing Jamie with a little something to open as well.  It sure did help and she really likes it!

Of course there was cake... white, with chocolate chips, smarties (like m&m's) and sprinkles!  (Lina's very detailed request).

Oh yes, and what would an April birthday be like without fresh snow to play in!  Lina and Jamie are more optimistic than I am about it and I try to have joy like them but it is hard.  Lina had a great time playing though!

Last week was a rough one.  Lina had croup and Jamie had the stomach flu which left her a couple pounds lighter.  Jannis and I are so glad that it is all over.  We had planned to celebrate her birthday with the entire family but had to reschedule due to illness.  More pictures of that celebration to come!  It is the birthday party that never ends!
