Christmas

Our first Christmas in our new home was really nice.  I so enjoy celebrating this time of year with the girls.  Everything to do with Christmas is so beautiful and special and their excitement is contagious.  To see their joy reminded me so often of what Christmas is really about.

This is a picture of us before we left for Lina's preschool Christmas program.  She was so excited and had been practicing all week at home.  When the program finally came she was quite scared to see all the people in the audience and ended up not singing a word.  It is ok though... she still stayed up there all by herself (with the other kids in her class).  She did a great job and was very proud of herself when it was over.

Jamie LOVES to play with keys but what kid doesn't?!?!

Jannis and I have tried to get a picture of the girls together on numerous occasions and it is so hard to make them stay still for the shot but we finally got this one!  It  was so much fun watching them open the presents.

It is so much fun to see the girls learn and grow.  Lina drew this picture the other day.  She said it is an angel with coins falling from the sky.  We'd recently read the story "Die Sternentaler" and this was her depiction of the story.  For those of you who don't know the story it is about a young girl on a walk and as she walks along she meets various people with needs.  One person doesn't have a coat so she gives them her coat, one person does not have a shirt so she gives them her shirt, etc.  This progresses on until she is left with nothing and in the end her generosity is rewarded with money falling from the sky.  It is true that when we are generous with others we are blessed even if it doesn't mean that money falls from the sky.  :)

It looks like an angel, now that you say so :D Your tree is a in a perfect spot. We have ours up still, mostly because we have been so busy with Levi, but we have declared that the corner it is in is also perfect. Congrats on your first Christmas in you new home!!
