Jan and I love using our weekends to explore so today we chose to visit the town of Winterthur. It only took us 30 minutes from Schaffhausen by train. We must admit that we initially underestimated this town before we arrived. There are only about 100,000 people living there but there are great museums, restaurants and shops. We had a beautiful view of the Alps too. Once we arrived we decided to check out the Kunstmuseum. It was so much fun to see real paintings by such famous artists like, van Gogh, Picasso, Gris and so many more. To see these up close was very interesting.
The town of Winterthur is welcoming spring too. As a gift to the people, the town placed 5,000 potted flowers around for people to enjoy. There were flowers everywhere! After 3pm people were welcome to pick one out and take it home for free! It was very beautiful.
