There's been a lot going on here in Lohn. Last week our small supermarket had a village breakfast. The food was amazing and breakfast was served from 8 am - 12 pm. It was a fun way to meet people and celebrate our little store. The store often struggles with staying open because it is in such a little village so this was a good way to advertise. :)

I loved the patriotism of this little store. "Volg" is the name of the store and it is a supermarket chain in Switzerland. This flag says "typical volg, typical Switzerland."

Jan, Lina and I went mountain exploring again last Saturday. It was a very hot day so we went later in the day towards evening. It was a beautiful outing.

I love how the hiking paths go right through the cow fields. Sometimes you really have to watch out where you step. It is a very "typical Swiss" setting with the alps, the villages and cows in the picture above. Truly beautiful.

We've also had the pleasure of having Jan's brother Christoph and our nephew Nico with us for a few days this week. It has been a lot of fun having them. Tomorrow they are heading up to Opa's in Hanover. Sabine was also here for a couple days. We all celebrated Jan's birthday on Sunday together and on Monday we had another great day in the mountains. Thanks for coming Sabine (and for the pictures in this and last's post)!
